Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

The Ara Rooftop Pool and Lounge at The Sandestin Resort has fine wine, tropical cocktails, and a menu filled with small bites and appetizers. The music is always playing and at night the tempo picks up with the energy of the patrons. Private cabanas are also available with full service. 

The Marina Bar and Grill overlooks the Choctawhatchee Bay. You might be greeted by Maryann the macaw when you come for lunch or dinner. The menu is casual fare with selections like the locally caught Grouper sandwich topped with a pineapple cabbage slaw and fish tacos. 

Ovide is one of Chef Hugh Acheson’s restaurants. Chef Acheson is a Top Chef judge and a recipient of the James Beard award. The filet mignon is cooked to perfection and topped with a shiitake mushroom jus and the pan-roasted snapper comes with a Thai chili emulsion. 

The Fat Tuesday Bar at the nearby Village of Baytowne Wharf serves frozen cocktails along with other options from their full bar. They also have bar snacks such as nachos and wings.  

Orvis is a clothing and accessory store with everything you, and your dog, need for a day on the lake or a hike through Emerald Coast. About 15 minutes away, in Destin, there are more shopping options, such as Southern Tide. Southern Tide has clothing for men, women, and children. They are famous for their Skipjack Polo, the most comfortable polo shirt you will find. 


Things to Do

Golfing is a key activity in The Sandestin Resort, Florida. Raven Golf Club is one of the best in the area, with manicured greens and fairways. Burnt Pine and Baytowne Golf are both nearby and provide exceptional golf courses with gorgeous views of the Choctawhatchee Bay. 

The sugar white beaches, though, is why people come to Sandestin. Deep-sea charters are available, surf fishing, and freshwater catch and release fishing are all at your fingertips. Just grab your fishing rod, or pick one up in front of the Baytowne Marina, and head out fishing. 

All watersports are available at The Sandestin Resort, Florida. There is paddle boarding, jet skiing, kayaks, boogie boards, boating, and even a floating waterpark. At the floating water park, there are slides, tubes, trampolines, and more. 

The Solaris Dinner Cruise takes you around the Choctawhatchee Bay on a 125-foot yacht with dinner, dancing, and stargazing.
